    Dear Friends,

    Veterans Day is a time to reflect upon the great sacrifices that our men and women in uniform have made and continue to make to protect our country and preserve our freedom. America's soldiers are our best and brightest, serving with courage and distinction, and they deserve our unwavering recognition and support.
    Today also marks an opportunity to renew our promise to America's veterans and their families and help them achieve the American Dream. Our commitment to our troops must not end with their tour of duty.
    As a member of the United States Senate I have worked hard to ensure that both our active soldiers and our veterans receive the resources and services they deserve. I will continue to support measures that honor our veterans, and I will fight to provide better health care, retirement benefits and educational opportunities for our nation's heroes.
    The author Cynthia Ozick said: "We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude." Our men and women in uniform deserve our utmost gratitude, and may we never take their sacrifices and their heroism for granted. So this Veterans Day, I join all Arkansans in thanking our veterans for their courage, valor, and service to our country, and ask that they remain in our thoughts and prayers throughout the year.

    Sincerely,
    Senator Mark Pryor

    We all need to start sending our representatives letters of our concerns.
    This will let them know we are watching them and they better start paying attention to us or start looking for new employment!

    It may be corny, but I just want to say THANK YOU to all the vets, especially on Veteran's Day --- when we can take a few moments to reflect on the fact that we wouldn't have survived without them! And for the men and women fighting the nasty wars and conflicts of today, WOW, you guys volunteered for this! My hat's off to you!

    Fallen Hero

    © By Anonymous

    I stare at the casket;
    Draped with the nation's cloth.

    I'm momentarily startled;
    As the guns go off.

    Another fallen soldier;
    Being laid to rest.

    I struggle to breathe;
    For this tightness in my chest.

    The bugler so smooth;
    As he hits every note.

    It is hard to swallow;
    Because of this lump in my throat.

    Tears fall like rain;
    As I look to the sky.

    No matter how many times I hear it;
    Taps still makes me cry.

    The bugle now silent;
    As we pray for the dead.

    I gather myself;
    As I bow down my head.

    Lord bless these heroes;
    Who have given their lives.

    Comfort their children;
    Their husbands and wives.

    Let us not forget;
    They have given their all.

    Let the bugle be silent;
    Let no more soldiers fall.

    A Guy
