iPod Touch 4G, Jailbreak Successful :D

Last night, I jailbroke my iPod Touch 4G (iOS 4.1). Now I have the best of both world on this thing. I can run Apple approved apps, as well as unapproved. I use Cydia as an unofficial App Store, and I love it. I installed a Windows 7 Theme onto it. Now that jailbreaking is a protected right in the United States, I'm very happy. So far, I've yet to see any drawbacks to this jailbreak other than a void warranty. (I've never had to use a warranty before anyway). I'm hoping to somehow get Flash Player onto this thing now.

The jailbreak is not tethered. Rebooting the device does not undo anything. Props to the hackers who made this possible. It rocks.

I thought they decided not to release greenpois0n. Are they using geohots exploit or their own, because as far as I know limera1n is already capable of jailbreaking all future ios versions with the current hardware?

For the Flash stuff. Look up "Frash." It's in alpha stages, and it runs really slow, but it's compatable with ARM7 processors. Which the 4G has. Apparently, it can run all types of flash content. But if you're okay with just movies, look up Skyfire on the Apple App Store. It takes flash videos and converts them to HTML5 for any device to view. Pretty neat... if you still see sites that use flash to stream content...

Hello all, just a quick question. I really really wanna' try other themes but when I searched on deviantART, their themes seems to be able to use after JB. Is it true or just my stupidity on not searching well enough? If so, I think I might go for it. XD

Yeah, you'll need to jailbreak to use a theme. I haven't used the greenp0ison tool for jailbreaking but I have used the lime
ra1n tool and it is very easy. Nothing to worry about.

I have the 4th gen Ipod Touch with IOS 4.2.1 and greenpoison didn't work, neither did limerain. Limerain got the closest, by at least getting cydia on my homescreen but when launched the screen goes white real quick and then back to home screen. Has anyone successfully jailbroken the 64gig Ipod Touch 4th Gen, Ios 4.2.1? If so can you please contact me and tell me how you have done it? I've been up all night checking various claims and trying different methods and I'm afraid at this rate I'm going to brick the thing and I just bought it. I'd rather not have to do that! Any help would be fantastic. I've been following the dev teams page very closely and they say they can for the iphone but doesn't state if this applies for the ipod touch. please contact me asap if you have the magic answer! [EMAIL ADDRESS REMOVED] many thanks!

4.2 is not compatible with the jailbreak, which is why I'm still on 4.1. Also capacity does not matter. Also, I messed up my jailbreak a few times before getting it right. All I had to do was restore from iTunes. I think you can also downgrade your iOS to the original that the device had, unless yours came with 4.2?

He won't be able to downgrade, I think. Apple stopped signing the 4.1 firmware, so unless he somehow magically had SHSH blobs for 4.1, he wouldn't be able to restore to 4.1. He just has to wait for either a 4.2 jailbreak or an important firmware update that dev teams will bother to write an exploiter for.
