gogreen, do you have a specific xp problem that we may help you with?

we are allowed to answer xp questions too.
I have an XP laptop with Office 2002. Every so often when I try to open MS Word or Excel, it prompts me to reinstall a component. I insert my original Office XP CD, and all is then fine. But why is it periodically asking forgetting the installed component?

    Thanks.

    i don't know.

what i would do is completely uninstall office. then install it again.

    it might cure the problem.

This and choose install all instead of typical. Mine used to that to me as well.
