Display/print all pages of a thread in this forum

    Hi folks.

There is a thread (and there will be more) that I'd like to save in its entirety as a single file. I do have the Bullzip PDF printer so that I can "print" a web page to a PDF file but this thread extends over 6 pages. I would like to print it all in one PDF file and save that. I see no option to display the whole thread in a single page, nor any option within the page to print the thread (or even that page); it seems to depend on my browser's [Print] button (or File->Print menu).

Simple ideas, please? I have thought of copy-pasting paged into MS-Word. Done that; its d.., um,.. blessed messy!

Come to think of it, a "printer-friendly" option might be a nice feature to add to this forum.
I should also inquire elsewhere about a way to concatenate PDF files. That would provide a workable, if tedious, workaround to my issue.

    Ideas?

You see an option when you're viewing a thread under Thread tools - Printable version? Then at the bottom - Show x posts from this thread on one page. About as close as it gets I think.

You could also go into your User CP (link at top) and to Edit Options - number of threads to display to show the maximum 40 per page.

    Thank you, Airbot.

And now, so that I don't have to feel like an information freeloader, I will return yuor favor with additional info.

When I clicked on the [Thread Tools] (actually, [Tutorial Tools] in this case), as you suggested, I offered me a Printable Version. So far, so food. On that page, it offers to Show 40 post(s) from this thread on one page. That's a step in the right direction but this tutorial, with all of its comments, has something like 60 posts.

So at this point, I could output two PDF files. But I wanna have it ALL in one PDF file!

Well, I discovered PDFSam (PDF Split And Merge) on SourceForge (I luv Google!) now I see it in its own web page. Kudos to Andrea Vacondio for this.

Now we have the solution: I can produce my two PDFs and then concatenate them using this great little tool. I might quibble about some less-than-perfectly intuitive operations but who cares? It WORKS for what I needed.

So thank you Airbot and Andrea (who may never see this post )

    No problem.

The 40 per page maximum might be a vBulletin (what this site uses) limitation, or an Admin set option. Not sure on that one. But yeah, it's as close as it will get I think. But at least you found a way to merge them together so it still works out for you. :)
