It's a sod cutter's tool. Could be used to cut turf or peat. Somebody else have a go. I'm becoming horizontal.

Is it for cutting turf out of the bog,?

Here. This is how we used to go to the bog back in the Fifties before I was even born, and in them days we had Briquettes.

See if you can recognise anybody.

What do you mean had briquettes? In 2005 we were still using peat briquettes to warm the house.....OK, OK...that was in Thurles.
