Yes. It comes with a couple usb cables so I plugged in a keyboard and it worked quite well. I did try and optical mouse and it worked as well thought not a well as I liked. When you move the mouse it just "tabs" between links. You do not get a mouse pointer.
Thanks for the answers. The 5 hour battery time I have read from other users too. That's not too bad.

Regarding the keyboard - All my keyboards have scroll balls. So I don't need a mouse and a second USB connection. I would think that this is handy when you want to correct text.

I now found that Toys-R-Us is selling it for $139.95. I will check that out too as soon as I get to Tampa.
