Open Box - or STAY AWAY!

Greetings,

I am looking @ some motherboards and other items on Newegg and they sometimes have items discounted since they are classed as "open box." Should I run away quickly from any open box items, or would it be okay to purchase an item like that?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Hello WartHog,

These items are usually returned items, or items that have been opened in some other fashion. They are usually fine to get, but may have some minor item(s) missing from it. It's a roll of the dice, but if the discount is good enough and you don't mind something that has been opened, then go for it. Newegg will still allow you to return or exchange it if something is wrong with it.

Hope this helps some,
Shawn
