    Alienware worth it?

So I want a gaming laptop, and I know alienware is like the Mac of windows (beast beyond compare, but expensive).

Do you think this rig is worth it? (I will be doing hardcore gaming like AC:B, CoD, RE5, etc.)

The M15x is a nice rig, I have one with a 920 i7, 4 Gb RAM and I swapped the 500 HDD for a 128Gb SSD with the 500 being an external USB.

The 740 is a good gamer CPU, the 260 is a fine gamer GPU but you really don't need the 6Gb of RAM unless you will need it for other applications.

With the M17x r3 just debuted you should be able to pick up a Certified Refurbished, or Bought as New M17x r2 from the DELL Outlet, the M17x has the ability for 2 hard drives and 2 GPU's I have ATi 4870's in CrossFireX, a 160 Gb SSD as my primary and a 320Gb HDD as the secondary in my M17x r1 plus I have a Blu-Ray and the 1920x1080 HD screen which is wonderful, the M17x r2 has the RGB LED screen which is fantastic and not available on the M15x. Neither is a bad choice but the M17x is a serious BEAST.

    Hi cclloyd9785 :)

For gaming laptops take a look at Rock (i7, sli, crossfire etc and you can build your own on line ... keep in mind you get what you pay for

The specs of a mac don't make it a beast, but yes it is expensive.

If you really need to game on a laptop, it's going to be an expensive endeavor. And you don't really have too many choices, as it's next to impossible to build your own laptop...unlike a desktop.
