Is it strange that most of the senior members of this forum have not made it out of college, Or that some of us are 3 and 4 times the age of some and yet the senior members know more about the computer than I do. Thank you for the help and patience. I have been in Alaska since 1975 and that is after I finished my first round of College. I have fought fires for 25 years after I had done contracting. Turning 59 in Feb
Did mine on the 3 semester plan, 3 semesters flunk out transfer, 3 semesters drop out transfer, 3 semesters graduate with honors. Better than getting shot at. But I did graduate and again with a degree in fire science 30 years later after I really knew what I wanted to do. Really with honors and never opened a book, Guess when you teach recruits it rubs off. What the computer gurus here are doing thanks again
I guess we never grow up. Education/ knowledge is special. I have stopped running into burning buildings but if I can keep the kids from getting hurt I have done my job. My last wildland fire this spring went from a downed powerline to 300 acres in under an hour took an evening break and ran to over 1000 acres the next day in under an hour. From 6 people on the fire to over 300 in 24 hours. No one hurt and only 3 structures lost. It was up close and personel. My responsibility in life now is to make sure others can learn form my mistakes.
