Heh well I think at least game shows will be safe and still need humans. How boring would it be watching a game show where every contestant got every question right? you need humans in there to be wrong a lot of the time or it's no fun Well same goes for chess, no one wants to watch two computers going at it in any game really... Gotta be at least one human in the mix always.

I recently watched a documentary on PBS about how the brain works, and they discussed this project and how they went about designing it and programming it. What I thought was interesting was the fact that at certain times, Watson would come to conclusions -- the right ones -- and the programmers weren't even sure of how it got to that point. It extrapolated data and made associations that were not anticipated in advance. So yes, folks -- these things are starting to think for themselves!

A suggestion though..
You'd want to make the CPU in your head (which is usually referred to as "brain" as far as I remember) clean and shiny by polishing it, but don't use too much alcohol in the process: it slows down the CPU a lot, to the extent that it's quite unusable at times.
On the other hand, alcohol seems to usually boost your wireless network connections.
