Rap and hip-hop is not really my thing, but the guy has talent and does what he does very well. He seems rather unique in a time where most of the other stuff is the same. Oh yeah, I'm also in the Detroit area as well...so he's a bit of a local star in these parts. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self-Built in July 2009 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Q9550 2.83Ghz OC'd to 3.40Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R rev. 1.1, F12 BIOS Memory 8GB G.Skill PI DDR2-800, 4-4-4-12 timings Graphics Card EVGA 1280MB Nvidia GeForce GTX570 Sound Card Realtek ALC899A 8 channel onboard audio Monitor(s) Displays 23" Acer x233H Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard ABS M1 Mechanical Mouse Logitech G9 Laser Mouse PSU Corsair 620HX modular Case Antec P182 Cooling stock Hard Drives Intel X25-M 80GB Gen 2 SSD

I think his lyrical sense of meter and time are great and his clever use of rhyme and half-rhyme excellent. But his lyrical cleverness can get a bit cloying as he is constantly self absorbed and self referential.
I get a bit tired of listening to the banal but self aggrandising anecdotes of his life and his mom etc.
However, compared to some other rappers he is modest mouse. I find constant boasting about sexual conquests and/or willingness to beat women/kill rivals very tedious.
Interesting that the best racing driver, golfer and US President are black guys but the best rapper is white. Pretty much the same comments I'd make. I liked the commercial he did for Chrysler during the Super Bowl.

such wonder is music.. I only look at it as different tastes, developed over time. When my brother, who is older, and I discuss music it always ends with me joking "when are you going to grow up," and him replying, "when did you grow so old." | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Homebuilt OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit CPU Core i7 920 Motherboard Asus P6T Memory Corsair XMS 12GB Graphics Card Asus EAH5850 Sound Card Asus Xonar D1 Monitor(s) Displays HP 2709m Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Microsoft Natural Ergo 4000 Mouse Microsoft Wireless Optical 1000 PSU Thermaltake TR2 RX 850 Case Lian Li PC-B70 Cooling CPU-Noctua NH D14, GPU-Stock, Case-Noctua 2x140, 2x120 Hard Drives Intel X25 120GB SSD; Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB (1), Green 1TB (2), Green 2TB (1) Internet Speed Cable Other Info HP bd 340,
