Great article from LifeHacker. I'm sure that will help someone with Android device...

The best thing about that article is "Don't use a task killer". Way too many people use them and in the long run it can cause more problems then just a few hours of extra battery life a day.

Best way I found was to try find a custom kernel. Longest I've had my phone go without a charge is 2 and a half days, and with just general usage I was getting that a lot.

The only problem with newer kernels though is that the 2.6.38.xx versions have diabolical transfer rates to SD card when connected to PC etc, but they offer better battery life.

Note that setCPU isn't free and need root access for it.
From XDA community Developer give it for free in Market we have to pay for it. It's donate version.
I forgot about that. Now I know where I originally got it from as I always wondered why it was never in my Market app list as I don't remember paying for it, lol.

Been busy looking at getting the stock Gingerbread notification bar icons (battery, signal, wifi etc) in to a Sense ROM. Got the battery icons in, which is easy to find, but the other things don't seem to be in the framework-res.apk file. Will have another look tomorrow.
    Try this UOT Kitchen

I usually use that for themes. I found the remaining things I needed. Was in the systemUI.apk file. Was tired last night doing it, so I didn't realise until I was in bed where the rest of the icons would be lol.

Just need to pack it all up and flash them now.

Yea, as easy as it is using the kitchens etc I find it much more fun doing it myself.

I think when I get enough free time I'll work on putting a ROM together for myself using the ROM kitchen you linked to.

Got them sorted and they look great. Find them much better than the stock Sense icons. Only thing that didn't work was the USB notification icon when the phone's connected to the PC, but I'll have a look at that another time.

Found a music player called IVR Music Player, which is a voice recognition one. It's still not all that accurate Google voice actions, but speaking clearly can yield some good results. I wanted something for while I'm driving and I can just talk to my phone to change songs, lol. Only problem with this music player is if it finds the song I want it doesn't play it, but just displays it and I have to manually click play.

Might make it a project for over Summer and write my own voice recognition music player, lol. I'll throw it on the same pile as the Seven Forums Android app I said I'd have a play with making.
