The Nexus S is very nice. But also have a look at the HTC options - especially the Thunderbolt. And the Motorola Atrix is the ultimate - especially with the dock.
The Atrix is a nice phone, but has a locked bootloader. No way would I purchase a phone with an encrypted bootloader. No custom ROM's and being at the mercy of Motorola for OS updates. Where's the Open Source spirit Motorola?

Yea Motorola do kinda kill the beauty of Android, though it's good to see they've started doing it differently with the Xoom having an unlocked bootloader.

And the Thunderbolt looks nice, but I find them too large for a phone personally. I've tried the HTC Desire HD, which is basically a GSM version of the HTC Thunderbolt. The new HTC Desire S looks nice though. Not much different in terms of hardware to the original Desire, but it's slimmer. Not enough for me to upgrade from my trusty Desire though, lol.

works fine here - maybe you have to register on the forums first?

it's a good place to register - sometimes you can get things free from the developers that you have to pay for at the market.

anyway here's the zip...

Just flashed a 2.3.3 ROM for my Desire and since the Nexus One has 2.3.3 now too it's incredibly smooth and fast for my Desire (as they're virtually the same phone). Has 720p recording and everything.

The rom is fully working?

Yep. It's about as much of what Android 2.3.3 is as what the official update is to the Nexus One.

The only problem with it I find is the kernel. When the SD card is in the phone and mounted on the PC, it has god awful write speeds to it (I'm talking like < 1MB/s). The SD card is fine if I connect it via a card reader.
