If I was you though, I'd root it and flash an AOSP ROM or something. Stock ICS is really nice to use, and Jelly Bean ROMs will start popping up soon as well.

Hi Harry, AOSP ICS is good but Touchwiz framework offers some beautiful features which are missing in CM9 or any such stock ROM. That's why I prefer Samsung made ROMS.

For ex: TV OUT, USB OTG, etc. are missing in stock ROMs.

I would root it if it wouldn't void my warranty and there wasn't a risk of bricking the device. I've only had this device for about 3 weeks and don't want to screw it up, but Touchwiz is a bit laggy. Touchwiz has been laggy on tablets ever since Touchwiz UX came out on Honeycomb last year and they still haven't fixed the performance issues. I didn't have a Honeycomb Touchwiz device, but I read complaints about performance on the net. There are 2 roms that I have seen for my tablet and those are Cyanogenmod 9 and AOKPCB. Cyanogenmod 9 is in early development, so I probably don't want to use that as it's going to have major issues. I don't know about AOKPCB. Also, is there a way to unroot and put stock recovery and the stock rom back on this tablet if it were to get bricked or needed to go in for warranty service. The model tablet I have is a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 P3113.

I find AOKP ROMs better than CM9. It's a lot cleaner than CM9, and the newer AOKP builds support a lot more features like USB OTG, and some custom kernels support TV out on other ROMs like CM9 and AOKP.

Though I know what you mean. I stick with Sense 4.0 on my HTC because the camera is much better than if I was to use an AOSP/AOKP ROM, which is one of the primary reasons I got this phone for the camera.

If you do decide to root, just be careful when you're flashing. Make sure the MD5 checksums match up before flashing anything like boot.img.

You can get it all back to stock if need be, yea. Rooting does void the warranty, but I've heard people who have sent devices in for repair after getting everything back to stock when they were rooted and everything before.

Thanks for the advice. I think I am going to see is Samsung comes out with a Jellybean update for my tablet which should make it faster since Jellybean is supposed to be "buttery smooth" I do really like Android and these problems are pretty minor and will hopefully be fixed.

Is it new? If it's new, then it should come with ice cream sandwitch.

Have you checked for a software update to see if there is an update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwitch?
