Thanks Everlong! Hope that you'll pass that exam!
Oddly, although the course is called Software Engineering, it's actually more networking orientated, which suits me fine, as that's what I want to do. Although there is come Java and C++ involved, in the second year it branches out, and I plan to go down the networking route.
Update on the broadband, well it's all on and working perfectly, getting the top 8Mb/s that I can get until June when we get ADSL2+.
The homehub has already been taken out and replaced with the old DLink, A standard port scan revealed that 2 ports (won't say which for obvious reasons) were wide open.
A quick google suggested that they were used by the router for firmware updates, but if this was the case, I would expect the router would bind itself to those ports. My computer had no problem at all using those ports, it didn't even need port forwarding! As the Hardware firewall is obviously useless, I've decided that I'm not using that router.
Good news on the connection Martin! Do you have BT com where you're at? I've heard varying reports on it. hopefully the ASDL2+ will grab you a burning fast connection>
Is there no cable in the UK yet?
Has anyone heard from Dinesh regarding how things are going at his WEDDING?"
Any Facebook photo's of the event yet?
I know what Dinesh has on his mind.
Just hoping his friends will send a photo or two of the newly wed couple.
There's nothing on Facebook yet Dennis, only the one photo yesterday to do with his engagement.
Can't blame it on me Dennis.
I don't even own or have access to a cell phone or even have access to cell service.
