It's called logic and the ability to read between the lines.

4 possible outcomes:

1.) He shot her and then shot himself
2.) She shot him and then shot herself
3.) Assailant/s unknown shot them both
4.) A stray bullet flew in through the window, ricocheted off her and into his head...

Sounds like the Girlfriend plugged him, though that is pretty damn rare.

So much for cheating on your wife and family. Either you stay or you go - the rest is what a coward does.

So for all his skills as a footballer and teammate his actions will now cause him to be remembered for being a cheat who ruined lives around him and destroyed his own.

Nashville police spokesman Don Aaron identified the woman as Sahel Kazemi, whom he called a "friend" of McNair's. She had a single gunshot wound to the head.

Police said the 36-year-old McNair was found on the sofa in the living room, and Kazemi was very close to him on the floor. Aaron said the gun was not "readily apparent" when police first arrived.

Aaron said McNair's wife, Mechelle, is "very distraught."

"At this juncture, we do not believe she is involved," he said. "Nothing has been ruled out, but as far as actively looking for a suspect tonight, the answer would be no."

I'm more inclined to think the wife caught him with her, killed them both and set it up to look like a murder/suicide.
