    WOW! Windows 7.

Where have I been? I was using Windows XP since it came out. Just got the new laptop a week ago with Windows 7 and still learning about it. What a change, so much more you can do with Windows 7. This forum is like a self help guide and has helped me in many ways with questions I have. Thanks Windows 7 Forums, and if there are any questions I can't find, I'll be sure to post them. Although I do have one question: is it safe to download SP-1 now, or should I wait a few more weeks?

Welcome to Seven Forums, and welcome to Windows 7. It was my idea

Well, why not get that Service Pack on there while it's still fresh eh?

No. No, no. A thousand times no. What a bloody awful campaign slogan that was.

If I didn't know better, I would have bought an Apple because of that insipid slogan

I would install SP-1 as soon as possible. Don't get in a hurry. For most it take over a hour and I recommend staying with the computer in case it needs your input. Don't do anything on your computer while this is going on.

Thank you Layback Bear & electrotune1200, I'll probably install SP-1 this weekend when I have more time to tinker with the computer. :)

I installed SP1 today and everything went very smooth, no problems so far. It took about a hour total from download to completion.

    PTD,
As others have mentioned welcome to SF. You are so right about this being the place to learn and share your knowledge. One of the main draws I have found are the quality people that frequent this site and the interactions that can come from it. Enjoy and hope to see you around SF.
