Sore right hand

For quite some time now my right hand and right pointer finger are pretty sore. It all started when I started spending dozens of hours a week for several weeks straight playing PC games. Even after resting it for a week or so it was still equally as sore. I went to the doctor and he told me it's not carpel tunnel. I asked him "well then what is it?" He said to just rest it. So i rested it for a week, still sore, another week goes by, still sore, rested another week, still just as sore. Anyone else ever had this problem?

What Mike said I get RSI nearly all the time, but it passes by in a day or two.
I think you may be in the wrong place for asking these questions, but if we know the answer then we might as well

I concur with what Mike said about Voltaren.
Have used the cream on many occassions and has helped me heaps.
When you get to my age, aches and pains are a normal way of life, but to get some relief is great.

Use the other hand.
Try using the other hand. I'm having pain from the back of my right hand to my arm pit so I started using my mouse with my left hand. Didn't change the mouse setting just started using the mouse with the left hand. It's not as easy as it sounds, at least for me. It is somewhat a challenge....
