I can put a Union Jack under my name (coz im in England) but as im
½ checoslovacian ½ Polish there is no flag for me

The world would not be the same without Lech Walesa, and IMHO, Reagan would not have "won" the Cold War without Walesa. "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall" would have had little meaning if not for the courage of this simple, if flawed, man from Popowo, who seemingly walked through that wall long before the first hammer blows that eventually tore it down.

I only wish that James Michener had lived long enough, or waited, to pen his tome, Poland.
