I don't think he'd be asking about logging out of the forum. I think he's referring to the fact that you have to click on the tiny arrow in Windows 7 to find the "Log off" function. I've wondered about the logic of that myself. His question is "why?" and only Microsoft can answer that one.

However, to the OP, if you use "Log off" more than any of the other options, you can set your button to default to "Log off" by right clicking on the button and choosing Properties.

Or you could make a Log off shortcut. Or both.

My question is about the forum logout button. It's location is difficult for first time users. Is it on purpose or an oversight. I don't know. Anyway thanks all.

Like the Hotel California, you can check out, but you can never leave!

enduser is right, logout is difficult to find it for first timers. if the skin/style is in sf default the logout is the bottom right corner. it took me quite sometime to find it as i was logging out coz am using office computer and i dont want someone messing around with my sf account who knows what will they post. now i am using sf pastel, logout is at the upper right corner which is more convenient for me. :)

Something like this, always at the top right would be great.

Many sites have a hard to find logout link. recently my bank revamped its site and added a large blue log out button.
