Politics is more than a governmental device. Everything that any person believes, thinks, says or does can be reduced to politics. Of course, most of us are a potpourri that covers all of the political spectrum in one fashion or another, which at times creates conflicts within us that can be difficult to sort out. It is this aspect of humanity that some attempt to manipulate to serve their own purposes, either for power, wealth or ego, computing is not immune to this.
Thank you ... what you wrote makes a lot of sense to me, and I think I've looked at it this way before as well, but just didn't know how to express it in words.

Sometimes I feel the left and right parts of my brain have developed in equal amounts, since my interests include such things as writing music (the artistic side of me), but then I also enjoy programming (the logical part of me). And it shows in my choice of computers as well, because I have a Mac mini, too. I grew up with a //e and I don't hate Apple, but for the various reasons that other people have already pointed out, I focus more on Wintel PCs for the cost, choice, upgradeability, do-it-yourself, gaming, etc.

Well, my two cents, I'm an apple fan(not a fanboy) and I wouldn't throw myself into a river for Steve jobs, I hate macs, they're over priced and under specified, the only good thing about macs are the glossy backlit displays(and they don't work with PCs), I own an iPhone (uk so none of this csa contact) and an iPad 2, I'm a windows pc builder, I can't see me getting a mac unless my brain had melted and I had more money than sense...

    Amusing correlation and observation :)

Although to be fair, the same area of the brain would light up like a Christmas tree in a MRI for those who are slightly brain damaged and are blindly devoted to anything.

It would be interesting to study the effects on other areas of the brain while this occurs.

    "Devotion: ON, Logic: OFF"
I'm sure that would not include the Windows 8 leak "enthusiasts".

Well, apparently the world did end a few days ago so we are technically in the middle of 'The Rapture', so feel free to sin away

What a idiot. Good job it was only an iPad2 and not a complete Mac computer. I shudder to think what he would have sold to buy one of those. Probably his arm(s) and leg(s).

I try to imagine a world where Apple, Windows, and all variations of Linux user living together in peace and harmony, but right now all i see is hardship because none of them, save for very few, can get along with each other.
I remember I was browsing another forum and one user who posted said he went into an apple store with his Lenovo laptop, the manager saw him, and said "get out."
Also as a personal experience, when I was in college, the students would gather in the Rec Room when not in class, and the two people literally two people who used Apple computers sat by themselves on the other side of the room and one of them would give a rather rude "shut the f*** up and get away from me" to anyone not wielding an apple.........the other guy was nicer, but then again, he didn't use his Apple while on campus, but he told us he had one, so he really didn't care.

A sad indictment of our consumeristic society. We really are living in the century of self.
