Well then, IMHO...

If you have a Mac, are an Apple fan, and/or already use iTunes or have any other Apple devices that you are using iTunes with then get an iPhone. Otherwise, get a droid.

The entire iTunes/Apple universe on Windows is a constant nightmare to deal with. Apple recently made a big deal about the next phones not needing to be chained to a PC. Well droid never has been and if you don't want that today, then get a Droid. Don't need itunes to load music or buy or DL anything including updates wich is all done over the air or on WiFi.

We've had a lot of bad experiences with iTunes on windows with an iPodTouch at our house (IPhone without the phone part) including horrible sync problems and lost data. Nothing of the kind with droid. Can hook it up as a mass storage device to your PC if you want and copy/backup stuff that way.

App stores are fairly even, though there may be one or two high profile apps on iPhone not available on driod atm but will be "tomorrow". Went droid and have not regrettied it once, unlike our Apple experience.

If you have /very/ specific needs for X or Y then it would be better to look up those specific needs on a per platform basis and make the decision that way though...

I'll say for Motorola, mainly reason because its Android OS. iPhone is iOS. Also Droid X2 has better specs than iPhone.

I got a Verizon iPhone4 and it took 2 hours on the phone with Verizon to get it activated and then it installed my entire address book including deleted items by itself. I was told I didn't have a choice and that was the way it worked. I returned the iPhone4 to Verizon and got the Samsung Fascinate (Android) which works more with what I want, not like the iPhone that works on what Apple says I want.

I wanted the iPhone4 as there was one app that I wanted that is not available for the Androids but with the Apple philosophy of deciding what the users want it wasn't for me.

The entire iTunes/Apple universe on Windows is a constant nightmare to deal with.

I absolutely agree. I have an iPhone and an iPad, and getting them to talk to iTunes is a complete lottery. Sometimes neither will be recognised by iTunes, sometimes one of them is, and very occasionally both of them. It usually takes 4 or 5 attempts to get them to appear in the iTunes window and then you have to manually sync. My old iPaq used to sync all by itself, seamlessly and automatically, every time without fail. If only Apple could get their software to the same level as Compaq's was 10 years ago!

For price & performance i'll defiantly buy an Android.
It really matters if you're an Apple fan or not. I'm not :geek:

droid OS was broken 2 months after the initial release of the phone. Initial release allowed direct access to the services. They 'patched' it 2 months later. The patch allowed you to kill processes, but restarted them in the background. This degraded the performance of the android os by keeping non essential services running at all times.

with the iphone 4 DC processor, there is little difference in the performance from a user prospective.
This is where the Market takes over as the priority. iphone market > droid market (forever and always, even though they promised otherwise, 3 years ago).

User Error is higher on the droid phones than on the iphone. Corporate usage = iphone > anything
