Just get whatever you like and don't worry about what your friends and family think.
Personally, I don't like any of those listed. I'd rather have a plain black or silver lid, got no need to make a fashion statement with my laptop! | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home Built, Dell Inspiron 1520 Laptop OS Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit), Win 7 Pro (32-bit) CPU 3.4Ghz 3770K i7, 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo Motherboard Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H, Dell Memory 8G, 3G Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 5770, Mobile Intel 965 Sound Card High Definition Audio (Built-in to mobo) Monitor(s) Displays Dell 2409W 24" Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard IBM Model M - used continuously since 1986 Mouse Microsoft PSU Antec Case Antec 100 Cooling CM 212+ Hard Drives 128G SSD OS; 1.5T & 2T Data on Desktop, 320G for laptop Internet Speed 1.5M down 1.2M up :-( Other Info Also have an Acer Aspire netbook, a home-built AMD Dual core (Minecraft server) and home-built Pent 4 all running Win 7. That is really a matter of personal preference and taste. I myself would not bother with another lid, but I am 73, not 16. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

I completely understand that the 'look' of something can be very important to a 16 year old guy --- and what his friends think is also important. But the other posters are right, in that it's really a matter of YOUR personal preference and hard for any of us to choose for you. But have fun with the selection process and good luck with your choice! (Maybe, when you're making your selection, think about what 'message' you want to give, concerning your laptop -- for example, serious, playful, hip, moody, edgy, artistic, etc. That might help you make your choice.) | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavillion dv5t (generation 1) OS Vista 64 bit and 32 bit (SP2) CPU Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor T9400 (2.53 GHz Memory 4GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm) Graphics Card 512 MB NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT Monitor(s) Displays 15.4" diagonal WSXGA+ High-Definition HP BrightView Widescre Screen Resolution 1680 x 1050 Keyboard Built-in HP Mouse Built in - Synaptics TouchPad V6.5 on PS/2 Port Hard Drives 320GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection Internet Speed Max Other Info ~ Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N Mini-card w/Bluetooth ~ Blu-Ray ROM DVD+/-R/RW ~ Integ. From an 80 year old guy to a 16 year old guy, here's my advice: Get whatever you like and don't worry about what others may think. Regardless of what style you get, you will find someone who doesn't like it. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavilion g7-1260us Notebook OS Desktop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 & Notebook with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit Memory 8Gig What do you suggest? problems?
