Today i stood quietly with many others outside our cathedral as a mark of respect for Sapper Elijah Bond (24)
His coffin was being accompanied into the Cathedral by a Guard of honour.
it was particularly sad to see his young friends and family following his Coffin, and was a poignant reminder at this time of year that all is not well in certain parts of the world, and what a sad loss of life this was.
This post is not to bring people down at Christmas but to remind us that life can be / is short and to make the most of what time we have. party on!
Rest in Peace Sapper Bond ,thanks for your service.

Good post Booh.
Good to remind us Yanks at home our boys aren't serving alone.
Where U.S.A. military has gone in harms way the U.K., Australians and Canadians have been at our side most of the time since WW-1.
Occasional governmental disagreements aside the people are what count.
Our condolences to your loss.
Mike

Today after a month, my mom is coming back from the village. She wanted some fresh air and change in the surroundings so I thought village is the best place for a change.
