    guess it's time

Guess it's about time i share the impressive beauty of my rig now, since i'm sure everybody cares

The first 2 pictures show the elegant way i solved the way the casing doesn't quite close anymore, the 3rd the reason why it doesn't quite close.

The hose is connected to a bathroom evacuation fan which i placed in the kitchen. It forces the air through the hose and displaces the hot air in the case. I tried to put the fan in it's normal suction direction but that caused a enormous whooshing sound which you get when you swirl a hose around.

The 4th/5th is the instrument panel which consists of a cantilever micro switch to wake/sleep the computer, a potentiometer to regulate varistor which controls bathroom fans speed and a switch to power down a mechanical relais which cuts all power.

As you can see this compact design lets me sleep/wake the rig with a simple flick of a finger, regulate airflow in the case so the CPU temperature stays lower then 50° C on full load and an emergency cutout switch ( had a smoking motherboard once to many)

I offer this marvelous piece of engineering free to the community to copy.

that's the most 'custom' custom-build i've seen for a long time.

brings back sweet memories of my old P100 machine i had when i couldn't afford a case - i just used a cardboard box with a fancy switch similar to yours on your 'instrument panel'! :)
