What if stolen laptop has new windows installed on it, the tracking program will go to? I would suggest to install tracking system on CMOS chip at least...
install tracking software to CMOS? have you an example of this please.
interesting yes! but i havent heard of it, i would be suprised if mindinka can produce an example as it is something i havent heard of, and something very easy to combat stolen items. and would be used on all laptops/computers if where possible.
and also dangerous if you have sold your item, and can track it's use.
That's what I want too since I have passwords for the BIOS, the post-BIOS (a password so the HDD can be loaded), and another password if the thief decided to change the HDD, virtually rendering the laptop useless and my data safe (encrypted).
Bad part is, there's no way to recover it
