Thunder Flies

Hi Ziani,

Hope those flies can be removed without problems. You're in perfect hands with Imperfect1, so everything should be fine Insects get into the most awkward of places...They often get caught inside the glass cases or shades of my lamps, and the smell is awful when they're burnt by the bulbs, and then the remains have to be removed :-(

I guess this is a good time to remind folks that in the computer world, the term "bug" was first coined by Admiral Grace Hopper after she discovered a moth trapped in a computer relay.

Thanks, you guys! I appreciate the good thoughts, and my words of caution stemmed from all of the horror stories I've read in computer forums where posters have send their computers in to the manufacturer (or so they thought) to be repaired --- and in good faith assumed the manufacturer would do a satisfactory repair. Sadly, that's often not the case and in some instances, the computers are just shipped over to 3rd party repair folks who obviously aren't careful and couldn't care less whether the problem is fixed or not --- or even whether or not THEY damage the computers themselves.

When I got my HP laptop 1½ years ago I paid for an extended 3 year warranty --- but since then I've decided to forgo the warranty, and just take my laptop to someone local whom I trust --- even though I'll have to pay for the repair --- at least I'll be able to have somewhat more control over the situation --- and if there IS a problem caused by the repair people, they can be held accountable.
