I like wood, for the same reason mentioned above -- pets. Damn Cat (Queen of All She Surveys) must walk & sit & sleep upon every flat surface in the house... every single day. A glass stand would quickly be one giant, smeary mess of cat foot & butt prints. So I made one out of an old door. Works fine!

Stand alone "Storm Guard" option?
I think this fits under "case mods", but if this is the wrong forum, please move it. If anyone has seen the Cooler Master Scout, you probably know of the "storm guard", a device that takes up one expansion bracket and is used to protect peripherals by tangling the wire around it and then...

Another "get transparent in full-glass" question
Hi all, I`m new here, my first post :). I have customized my Windows 7 today and I am happy with the look of my desktop-setup so far. I have managed to get rid of the blur in the folder-frames as you can see here: Bildr.no . Next up is how to get rid of the blur in the taskbar. Here you can see...

I REALLY miss "Desktop List View." Any stand-ins?
Desktop List View is a sweet, simple little app for XP & Vista that lets you switch the desktop icons to the same list view used by folders (tiny icons, label to the right, closely stacked). It no longer works in 64-bit Win 7. Compatibility mode makes no difference, probably just a...
