    Best Hackintosh Build for me?

    CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q660 (x64, 2.4GHz)
    GPU: NVidia GeForce 9500GT (1GB, PCI-E)
    RAM: 4GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM 800MHz
NETWORK: Linksys RangePlus Wireless G/N Card WMP110 (PCI)
CD DRIVE: PLDS DVD+ -RW DH-16A6S ATA Device
HARD DRIVE: WDC WD5000AAKS-75A7B0 ATA Device
    MONITOR: Dell E207WFP (1680x1050)
    MOTHERBOARD ID: 64-0100-009999-00101111-092608-Eaglelake$1ADXP005_BIOS DATE: 09/26/08 15:21:57 VER: 0.0.1
    MOTHERBOARD/COMPUTER NAME: Dell Studio 540

When I last tried to install Hackintosh, I had numerous errors. When I was able to finally get it to "appear", I couldn't install it on the partition I made, because of a Hard Drive-related error.

    Hmmmm.....well Hackintosh's usually come in 2 varieties

#1). A hacked ISO file which will allow you to run a copy of OSX on your x86 Intel hardware. Often times these hacked versions cannot be updated as they are non-legit and cannot be registered with Apple.

#2). A box with an EFI-X USB dongle plugged in which allows you to run a legit copy of OSX on your x86 Intel hardware....although it still violates the Apple EULA because it's not Apple hardware. These versions can be updated as they are legit copies...they are just running on alternative hardware. With this method, it only supports certain hardware...and the fact that you aren't running either a Gigabyte or DFI mobo is a show stopper.

I'm planning the build of #2 right now. I've got version 1.1 of the EFI-X ( http://www.efi-x.com/) dongle on pre-order from efix usb, efix usa, efix usb dongle, efix review, express pc, buy efix usb, efix usb v1.1, efix usb v2, efix i7, - EXPRESSHD.COM.

The dongle is $240 and Apple OSX is $129. So, that's $370 move than my hardware alone to run OSX on my recent build. My recent box was about $1000 in parts...so for less than $1400, I have a Quad Core CPU, 8GB of RAM, DVD Burner, 9800GTX+ video card, 1TB of HD space, with a 620W modular Corsair PSU, in an Antec P182 case.....more or less about the equivalent of a $3,000+ Mac Pro workstation for less than 1/2 the cost.

I know what OSX86 is, and how there's different builds. I'm just looking for the best .ISO file that matches my specs.

Ok, sorry. Wasn't sure if you knew and figured that I would post for the benefits of others who might be interested.

Overall, I don't have experience witht he OSX86 route as it's "hacked" and non-legal copies. I simply don't trust what somebody else might have done to my operating system. You might not get too many responses here on this forum as piracy is pretty much frowned upon and not tolerated.

    iPC OSX86 10.5.6?

A new release on the OSx86 front, this is the first distro on the scene to include the new 9.5.0 Voodoo XNU kernel, 10.5.6, and more patches than you have ever seen for those who are not able to run a vanilla system.

    ISO Size on Disk: 4.15GB
Image capacity: 4.3GB (allowing 150MB of space for future expansion)
Compression: 3.3GB RAR compressed using WinRAR 3.7 at highest compression rate
DVD Base System: Mac OS X 10.5.4 9E25 Retail
Installed OS: Mac OS X 10.5.6 with AppleDecrypt.kext and Disabler.kext (every install)
Languages Included: English, Japanese, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Danish, Finnish, Korean, Norwegian, Russian, Swedish, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Portuguese, Polish
Items removed from DVD for Single Layer Slimming: Boot Camp (doesn’t work on PCs), AdditionalSpeechVoices, Printer Drivers
Updates Included: Mac OS X 10.5.6 Combo Update, Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 2, Remote Desktop Client 3.2.2
    DVD Bootloader: Chameleon 1.0.11
    Default installed bootloader: Chameleon 1.0.12 PC_EFI v9

You can run "Install Mac OS X.app" directly from within your existing Mac OS X installation should you have one, just unrar, mount the ISO and get started!
