Can you upgrade the cpu in a laptop?

Just bought this laptop here. I was looking for an i7 but got a great deal on it so it went ahead and bought it.

Without changing the motherboard or anything. Can i just swap it out like a desktop? I know you can upgrade ram so i wasn't sure.

Usually the CPU is soldered onto the board, and I'm not going to lie, it's a pain in the bumholio to get to it in the first place, but different systems have different CPU's so refer to the operators manual as Thorsen has suggested :)

If it is socketed, then you can likely upgrade it. I'm surprised that it doesn't list any QMs though. My laptop had the option of a dual-core i7 when I was ordering it (went with a 740 QM instead: I multitask a lot).

Yeah, which is IMO not powerful enough to be even called an i7 (should be labeled a high-end i5 mobile CPU...)
