    Re Gravity
The LA Times had it as the most over rated movie of 2013.
When science fiction plays with time travel, warp speed etc then that's fine. Gravity is more of a drama set in space.

    SPOILERS........
There are so many (high school level) big physics screw ups and implausibilities that detract from the good special effects. The Hubble and space station are in different orbits about 150 miles difference in height. George coasts across with his back thruster LOL. Bullock in her role as a medical engineer fixing the Hubble and being able to operate a Soyuz space craft and it's Chinese equivalent is totally unbelievable.
The plot itself needs a dose of Gravity or else it would float away. At least the movie is only 90 minutes long.
Geeze Louise! It was a movie. It was fiction. It was drama for the purpose of entertainment. Build a bridge and get over it. The box office take disagreed with the LA times. I enjoyed it thoroughly even though I didn't buy any of the "science" for a moment. The only reason I was glad it was only 90 minutes was my aging bladder.
    +25.
I've noticed so called movie critics are fairly ignorant when it comes to saying what movie is good. They also gave Star Wars poor marks.

Yeah. Gravity was so lousy, it got only seven Academy Awards last night.

It says something about the Oscars. At least it was a giggle. Gravity was on the to win list, and best director - give me a break. All the director had to do was tell the geeks to do their special effects stuff.
I was expecting Sandra B to get best actress and George to get best actor but one can only laugh so much without causing injury. Cate Blanchett should have asked Sandra B if she wanted to swap her $70m for the little statue.

Hunger Games (Finally got to see why everyone raved about this. Even better is I don't have to wait to see the second film :) )

Oblivion (Has Tom Cruise which is bad, but it's actually a good movie both story and visuals. )

Star Trek : Into Darkness (Not bad, but do Klingons really need yet another "re-imaging"? )

World War Z (Good Zombie movie with some of the best looking zombies in a zombie film - but it wasn't exactly World War Z. )

Didn't particularly care for that re-imaging either.
