Help on purchasing a tablet pc

I need a tablet pc for work. I don't need anything fancy, in fact all I really need it to do is display word and pdf documents that open in a browser. It doesn't need all the internet bells and whistles. An ethernet port is really all. I saw some HP's selling on Amazon for around $150 and thought that couldn't be right. The $ does appeal to me since spending the $ on an ipad is overkill. Any recommendations on a price conscious tablet?

    thanks

Using Google you can type in Tablet Reviews and see what others are recommending.

I am saving word & pdf documents as .html documents so that they open in a browser (Basically creating a Word doc with links to the documents in a folder). The only thing I would need to do with the tablet is download Acrobat reader. Then a browser would be the only thing required to view the project. Will tablets do this?

You can get very cheap android tablets for around £80-£150. You can get some apps that enable you to view word files and also PDF's

If and when you get a tablet or whatever instead of using Acrobat Reader try
    this....

PDF Converter PDF Editor Edit and Convert html, Word files to PDF

It is free and not as bloated as AR. IMHO
