Fun technical chat with Dell Today

So, in my office, we just recently purchased 2 Dell Volstro 260S slimline computers. As with many businesses, we needed to use these machines with dual monitors.

When you customize the machine on the website it says,
Quote:
An HDMI to DVI adapter dongle will be needed if you have chosen Intel HD Graphics 2000 and want dual monitor support.
So, we bought 2 of the adapters they sold, which look like this

However, when you plug in that adapter, it then blocks access to the VGA port on the back of the machine.

A tech chat with dell support resulted in
Quote:
It appears that the adapter when connected to the HDMI port of the system blocks the other port."
^Yes, that's what I called and just told you.

Quote:
"we currently do not have an option for a DVI Female to HDMI Male cable like this below which will work on the system:"
So, they sold me a $13.99 part in place of a part they don't offer, and what they sold me doesn't work.

They suggested that I buy a few of these from a 3rd party instead.
