Convincing a father to allow his son to subscribe..

To make this short and simple:
-My dad doesn't want me subscribing to TechNet for an unknown reason.
-I need to convince him to let me subscribe.
-It would save me ALOT of money considering how much Windows 7 Ultimate is, plus the other applications I can get with this subscription.
-He knows I'm into computers and he knows that I'm currently interested in programming(C#).

I'll be paying with my own money.
The subscription is $249.99 + tax because of a promo/coupon code. That price beats Windows 7 Ultimate(Full) BY FAR.

How can I convince my dad to let me subscribe WITH MY OWN MONEY to TechNet?

I'm 16. I may be looking into the Computer Science field, but after talking to him he told me "Son, I'll let you subscribe after you decide what you want to do after you graduate high school(I'm going to be in Grade 12 in September).

Now, I can walk up to him and say Computer Science, but that would just make me a liar and "selfish through his eyes, that I'd lie just to get whatever I want.

Tell him you're not sure yet of what you want to be when you grow up,
but you are considering two options.

IT Technician at NASA, or shoe salesman.

First, unless you are renewing a technet subscription the cost is actually $349.

Second, the license for Technet is specifically for "evaluation" purposes. See this webpage; TechNet Plus Blog | IT Professional Community | Newsgroup Support

Third, it's not to be used for a programming environment....at least according to the licensing link above.

You have not completed your profile to show us anything about you. Are you in school? Your father knows you better than anyone on this forum can or ever will. Under the widest range of circumstances, your parents care more about you than any other living person ever will - except maybe your wife and children. Maybe he wants you to go outside more - how can we know?

You posted some time ago about wanting to install Windows on 5 to 10 machines. You need to be straight with us.

Having said all that -

Write a five paragraph essay that addresses the value of having the subscription. Provide concrete examples of how you benefit from those values. Draw a connection between the benefits and how they impact your plans for the coming year. Close your arguments with "I love you, Dad."

But don't try to play him. He is likely better at the game.

I know, I've asked him on multiple occasions why he needs to install on this many computers and why he feels it' has to be the Ultimate version...but I don't think he has ever answered the question.
