Don't worry about the rumor and its just that a rumor and don't fall for everything you read on the internet.
I have ocean front property for sale in Arizona do you want to buy it?
Be at ease grasshopper, MS is not tracking anything... use a good firewall that monitors outgoing internet tracking ( Phone Home ) activity. There are many available....
name please Tews? Does that mean i can get back to torrenting my fave songs?
There is actually an option as you set up IE that asks if it's ok to send info to Microsoft for purposes of tracking your internet activity.
There is another one that you can uncheck when you set up the Google toolbar.
Although I don't believe that either of them has any malicious intent, I prefer to uncheck them.
Microsoft is not tracking your downloads and your torrent activities. It's just a scare tactic.
If however you really are concerned, install some virtual machine software and install a Linux virtual machine and use that for all of your questionable web surfing. That way you don't have to worry about viruses, trojans, malware, internet history and other bad things.
