This has been going on for nearly 50 years now and I'm getting mightily pissed off with it!!
Mate thats what you get for your 7/6d what did you think you were paying for? If it's any consolation Andrew my 7/6d lasted 38 years - actually why don't you get an iPod and drown it out?or get a very expensive divorce - like me

Yeha especially that fibre glass insulation stuff you put in rooves.

Oh thought you might ask that G it's seven shillings and sixpence I couldn't find the pound symbol and pence used to be marked as a small "d" as in sixpence = 6d (and I just know you are going to ask lol!!) (plus the lead guitar player in Queen used these for guitar picks) there are twelve pence to a shilling and twenty shillings to a pound thats 240 pence to the pound or 480 half pennies (1/2d pronounced haypunny) ten two bobs (two shillings or florin) eight half crowns - 2/6d and eighty three-pences - 3d (pronounced thrrrupance) to the pound and nine hundred and sixty farthings 1/4d (pronounced as is) and just before my time were groats which were I think were worth fourpence 4d (long defunct).

Now, that's what I call proper money. It was actually worth something, and its buying power was relatively stable. Ever since decimalisation (15th Feb 1971), the value of money has been going ever downwards as inflation has caused prices and the cost of living to rise to heights never imagined in the good ol' days.

Kill the HP welcome/poppup screen. It annoys me.
When I boot my computer, (a HP) , screen pops up, (picture of a hand and HP.) I don't want that. It annoys me. It is not necessary. I want to kill it. I don't want to hear how difficult it is, to remove. Merely, I want it not. mmm, someone must know how to get rid of it.
