If only. They're only too keen on raising them, and when they do lower them it's only for a very short period of time and usually only to the level before they last raised them.

I remember when it was £1 per gallon (I had a mini 28 years ago, with a 4½ gallon tank, and it cost just short of £5 to fill it up). Now it is £6 per gallon (£1.32 per litre), a whopping 600% increase.
