Dear friends,
This really bothers me in a very practical way! So,kindly give a read.
Country of residence:India,
State of residence : Andhra Pradesh in the Southern 1/2 of the country,
City of residence : Nellore, an East coast City (you can view it on Google Earth)
Problem: The federal Govt. has sanctioned 14 thermal power plants to be erected along the Nellore coast. These coal-powered plants spew out 1)Sulphur into the atmosphere and 2)PRODUCE ONE LAKH TONNES OF ASH PER MONTH(very sorry for the caps) and 3) Cause a rise in temperatures in our district.
It is predicted by environmentalists and even locally elected representatives to the state assembly that my city will become UNINHABITABLE in 3 to 5 years from now! We are advised to plan ahead to migrate to somewhere else!

I will be unavailable to respond for the next two days as i am leaving town to visit a bordering state,Karnataka, to scout around for properties
oh shut up!Code:stop smoking
Building dirty coal plants with todays technology is criminal.
Clean coal plants cost more to build initially but this cost is recovered over its life.
If what you say is actually what they eventually build they are using 50+ year old technology.
That is a shame.
That would be as if computer technology went back to the abacus.
