At two Dunkin' Donuts stores, the price was $1.59.
    No way, man!!
    Dear Sardonicus,
That hurts! Here, a decade back buying water was unheard of! Now, we all HAVE to buy bottled water and that annoys me!

Hey what about th price of coffee here then if you reckon that was expensive come down under then you'll know what expensive is -$4-5 a cup - no doughnuts mate.

sreedhav why don't you just filter water from the tap cos thats all you are probably buying mate I filter every drop I drink boiled cold whatever.

Anyway it annoys me to see people drinking bottled water lie it is some badge of honour

    Still annoys me

Particularly when it's the same price as a soft drink.

    It's bloody ridiculous. I'm glad I don't drink coffee.

Not a badge of honour here - it's a badge of I'm thirsty and I'm away from my water filter jug

That's a valid point! At home, we do drink filtered water. I should have said when you are out of station, when you are unsure about the quality of water ( I am a diabetic,so infections won't help), that's when you have to go for bottled stuff.

He he no mate I think I heard it quoted once before that all the water on the planet has been through somethings kidneys at least 4 - 5 times already, and by badge of honour I meant it's seen to be a bit yuppy - I think they reckon they are cool with their fancy water bottles full of mountain errr filtered tap water. No offense meant to those who have to drink it from a supplier.:)

Diabetic here too and sometimes water is the only the thing you crave. At least the bottled stuff is clean and (usually) cold.

You're right, some people seem to flaunt it like they are being cool.

Especially those that flaunt the 'boutique' brands

And are you inferring that these mass produced bottles of water is simply normal water filtered by industrial filters?

That it is NOT the essence of purity that exude from goddesses who exist in utopian fairy land atop of pristine mountains which then gently flow downwards to gather in a pool of captured perfection? :roflamo:

I am a big iced tea drinker. I have gone to restaurants where the meal is $5.95 and the tea is $2.25. They are making a killing on the tea.
