In the best interest of such cases, I think it is prudent to inform admin/mod of your suspicions, but as I'm sure many members will not realize, or not care (sadly) I can only relay this effectively to the remaining portion to possibly raise awareness of such OPs existence and hopefully prevent the frustration it can obviously magnify very quickly to such levels that very heated arguments could occur, which is very counterproductive for both parties and I suppose could even be rather damaging.

Thank you,
Mike
Isn't that a pain when your inner voices can't agree on anything and get paranoid of each other.
That always ruins the party.

You post on SF and the other five "voices" post on different forums.
Different user names and passwords is bad enough.
Then they won't share any info with each other.
I feel for you.
That sounds worse than a Congressional committee meeting.

At least one of mine always agrees with me to resolve a deadlock.

You have my sympathy.

FURIOUS DENIAL

That’s the psychological process by which someone whose belief system is under assault by empirical evidence feels like a cornered dog and comes out snarling and snapping, clamping onto some side issue, flinging shit everywhere, frantically trying to get past the problem without acknowledging the reality or admit doubt or failure.

Would the current occupier of the SF straitjacket please let us know, as it is required for another victim customer.

(Mike, you haven't gone and lost it again, have you?)

Dennis was the last one to wear it.

We really should get a new one so Dennis can have his own.

Agreed. And whilst we're at it, how about one for your good self? I have heard that you misplaced the last one we lent you.

No I didn't lose mine. That is the one Dennis is using now.

He needs it a lot more than I do.

Besides my meds work quite well most of the time.....sometimes.

By the way Redrum says howdy!
He is looking forward to his trip to Yorkshire!

I get so confused about who is the current occupier of the Naughty Step, and who is currently in possession of the StraitJacket. It must be my age, at least that's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it!

This was more of a broken record syndrome!? roughly:

OP: X is showing up so that other computer is tracking me?

"Let me check it out....Nope X is normal its just IN your computer NO tracking you, heres all kinds of text and links"

OP: OH! I get it now. so its not them it my machine with X. ......So They must have put X there to try to follow me so it sends stuff back to them right?"

"no, it cant happen like that heres all kinds of crayon circles on your screen shots with arrows to help explain, make sense"

OP: Yes, i was worried there for a little bit, but X is still there I don't know why, couldn't it be them trying to access my activities?"

"no, the C: drive is normal, and it is still there, so just like C: - X is a normal thing to be there, more proof and kindergarten analogies"

OP: That makes sense now, thanks I'll let you guys go now!,....just one last little Q... X might be them tracking me from their computer right?

(repeat ~30 times - until last helper gives up)

(OP finds a new forum and start over at step 1)

Sorry for the vagueness, but you get the idea I'd imagine!
Like i said, very friendly, but an explanation approach will never work...EVER in that kind of case.

but that's that.

you can't teach a blind man to see (obviously a bit different with proper psychological help in his/her case)

The best you can do in such situations is give emphatic answers which leave no reason for doubt - unless you're not absolutely sure yourself.

I also try to avoid quips or side commentary in such situations which might distract from a simple declarative answer, especially from someone who is trying to get others to confirm their own assumptions.
