That's the most important job there is, being a mother. I'm just sorry too many of us (including me) realize that when it's almost too late. Only now, when my mother is over 70 and I'm living in an other country, I've started to understand everything she did for me and my siblings.
Work? For me it's more like a hobby, I run a small IT-consulting company. Earning far less I could when working for somebody else but I like it.
Personally I'm not competent enough to do this but because I'm quite good to delegate and find the right person to do the job, our customers seem to be satisfied.

How right you are Kari, my daughter has told me she now realises what I went through with them now she has one of her own
i live in a bungalow on a farm/small hotel. i get real-cheap rent if i serve breakfast in the dining room for an hour most summer mornings. the rest of the day is mine.
i get money helping local n00bs with their computers.
i also look after cats, but don't regard that as work.
IT Helpdesk for a printing company. We're nationwide with one IT tech each of about 8 locations for break and fix purposes.
