I know most people consider screensavers dead but...

I'm looking for a screensaver that gives the illusion of productivity.

Maybe something with scrolling command boxes or animated graphs and charts.
Just something to busy up a dull screen when the system isn't actually in use.

If anyone knows of anything I'd like to have a look at it.
Currently I'm using the old ati gargoyle clock thing which looks really cool but it's not exactly proper material for an office environment.

    Why not create one yourself?
You could take some screenshots, create a few pictures and then set the slideshow to 10 seconds.

What I was really after was something that would push my new gtx580 while looking cool.

A simple slideshow isn't really what I was chasing.
I guess I'll just stick with the nvidia demo for the 580.

I don't know about "push", but when I ran the "Bubbles" screensaver, my graphics card temperature went up over 20°C, before I panicked and killed it. (60°C - 81°C).

Why would you want to push a graphic card whilst the computer is idle with a screensaver?

If you wanna put your graphic card to at least some use while it's idle, then just run folding at home in the background or something.

IIRC, the "Bubbles" screensaver had adjustments in the Windows 7 Betas (It doesn't have any in the final W7 version).

I've still got 7048, 7077 and 7100 on disc, but I don't know how the extract files from them without installing them.

I think that there were different drivers in those versions too.
When I was trying out the Betas, I was able to directly install an old sound card, but it wouldn't install in the final W7 version.

    I settled on geoforms.
It was originally made to show case a earlier model card, but it still looks cool and reacts to sound.
...and as an added benefit because it's an old demo it isn't very hard on the card.
