    Spices

I ordered a bunch of spices online, primarily for the purpose of baking, among which, is a bottle of Rosemary. I don't know much about the spice, but from what I read, it is supposed to be good for memory, at least in terms of concentration. I'm wondering if there is any truth in this?

Any other spices with benefits that one should know about?

Turmeric is reputed to be an antiseptic. Oh and just to be dogmatic Rosemary is a herb not a spice. It goes well with Lamb.

Thanks, I'll order some Tumeric. I rarely eat lamb, but I have a recipe for Rosemary bread that I'm going to try out. I found a dealer on eBay that sells spices pretty cheap in bulk sizes, so I need to find good uses for them.

EDIT: Hmm, I Googled Tumeric and found this article...

They make a lot of claims for it besides being an antiseptic...I wonder?

I would take that with a pinch of salt.

I've heard that hot spices boost your immune system, but I don't know how true that is.

One must take that kind of spice very carefully in small doses, otherwise one might go blind.

Maybe a little shake on the RAM Dimms will speed up your system - LOL

But seriously, the wife always sprinkles some rosemary over the roast potatos before they go in the oven. Tasts very good.
