No paperclip in message box to attach stuff at this forum?

Can anyone tell me why I am unable to see the paperclip to
attach images etc. at this forum?

Is this a view thing maybe?

Any help most appreciated

Ok - it appears in this post I am writing right now, however I
looked for like ten minutes so I could insert an image in a new thread I made
in the Muso's group and it was definitely not there!

If that is a skin thing - I apologise for the silly question, but how do I go about remedying that? (besides Vitamin E cream for any funnies out there! - lol)

Thx

It only is available in post replies. It is not in VM and PM, if you were trying that.

Sorry - Please explain VM and PM?

It was a new thread I started - am I not able to insert an image in the first post
of a new thread?

I'm still a bit green when it comes to the use of this site folks
so it's often the simple stuff that gets me stumped!!

I did check the new thread I started when i ducked off a few minutes ago
but there's no paperclip - I don't get it??? Why would you not be able
to post images in a new thread??

Hello AllOnTheBus,

In addition, the links below may be able to help give you more details on this.

OK - I see that VM is probably Visitor Message and PM is a Private Message and skin refers to the look of the page such as choosing SF Pastel or SF Black Wide etc.

Neither of these is the case regarding starting a new thread within a group is it?
Hope this doesn't come off as sounding the wrong way but instead of a simple description
of what VM and PM are I get information I already am aware of IE: use the paperclip button to insert an attachment.

I have posted images here before and know how to do so but there are a few simple
questions I am asking here for the more experienced users of the forum which probably
could have been answered as folows:
1) VM is a visitor message and PM is a Private Message
2) NO you CAN'T attach images in a new thread you have started (attachments can only be put in a post which is a response to a started thread)
OR
3) Yes you can post images in a new thread by clicking the paperclip button - if you cannot see the paperclip button then press " " button in your user profile settings to make it appear in post reply, quick reply and start thread. Just to be clear if I click edit on the post - being the started thread I also cannot see the paperclip either.

Once again as I write this post I CAN see the paperclip button for attachments but as
for NOT being able to see it when starting a NEW thread in the Musicians Group- well I am
none the wiser.

More information please

The paperclip button is available for the main forum, both in the first post of a new thread and in subsequent replies. If you can't see it, you might need to click on Go Advanced.

It is not, however, available in the groups (I've checked the Musicians Group and a couple of others at random).

Thankyou very much for the straight out answer Dwarf.

I don't START to many threads which is probably why I'm unsure in the first place
but I believe you have clarified things for me here. I will see if the paperclip appears in the
next thread I start in the MAIN forum.

I find that a little odd that you would'nt be able to do the same at a group. I really wanted to
post a picture in and knew that images had been posted to a previous thread (obviously not the first post though!).

I wonder if maybe we could request that option be made available and if so who would/ should
that request be directed to? Brink?
