Anyone else having major issues with paypal?

So, I've tried three times now to place an order for my new i7 build from newegg. All three times paypal has declined the payment. After calling my card company, the payment was authorized all three times. I've now spent an hour and half on the phone with newegg, paypal and discover in a conference call. Each is pointing the finger at the other, since I have the authorization codes it is looking like paypal is the one dropping the ball.

I would pay directly with my card, but Newegg is having processing issues with Discover at the moment. I thought that paypal would act as a third party in the transaction and allow me to pay with a discover card. Apparently I should have gone with my gut and stayed away from newegg.

    Thoughts?

I'm not sure but Paypal can be a pain. I almost always have problems with them.
Maybe one in three transactions actually goes smoothly.

Newegg on the other hand is one of the best electronics outfits on the net.
I buy for price and service and Newegg is always best.
Of course I always use my Visa.
Never tried a Discover card. I don't have one.

    My 2 cents.

Used PayPal once with no hitches but I have separate credit card for purchases on line with minimal dollars in it.
However I do get a lot of spam from hacker's trying to get me to update account. Those go into the trash can.

I should have mentioned in my previous post the reasons I have for staying away from Newegg.

On my first build, Newegg shipped me the wrong case twice, the third shipment was the right case, but the wrong color. It was also scratched and had obviously been an open box return. It was also missing three of the power cables for fan connections that should have come with the case.

The second issue I had with Newegg, I purchased my ASUS G74SX. It arrived, and was not the correct model. They shipped me the lower end model. When I called them, I was informed they only had a limited number of the higher end models, and would not ship out the correct model until they received my return. Due to shipping complications, it arrived late, and the correct model was no longer available. They told me the only option I had was to wait for the back ordered models to come in. I spent three hours on the phone with them talking to various "managers" and was finally offered a refund minus the shipping cost. I told them it was unacceptable, and filed a dispute claim with my card company. Once they received the phone call from the card company, they quickly changed their tune and offered me a full refund.

    Fool me once....sigh.

Then why are you bothering with Newegg this time if you dislike their service?

    That makes no sense.

I have had pleasant experiences with Newegg. Those are just the issues I've had in the past. I've had my share of problems with Tigerdirect as well. Newegg seemed like the lesser of two evils when I looked at total costs for the parts/shipping.

Newegg had a lower overall cost including shipping, and a sale on the SSD I was going to use for the build. They also had the HAF X in blue, which I can not seem to find anywhere else at that price point.

I know I could have ordered just the case from newegg, and ordered the rest of the parts from tigerdirect. However, the main shipping cost is the case, by putting it all in one order, I got free shipping.

My apologies if it seemed like an attack on Newegg, those were just my personal experiences with them.

    Makes sense now.

    I've been lucky with Newegg.
Only one RMA and it was a return on my part not because of hardware failure.
They even waived a return/restock fee without me asking or expecting it.

I have had problems with Newegg and Paypal not working together.
Newegg end no problem then the redirect always gets messed up after signing in to Paypal.
Paypal refuses to rectify the problem so I just use my Visa.
Though the Paypal works at other on line retailers and Fleabay.

    Good Luck

So far I've had no issues with Paypal, in fact I used them the other day to make a purchase, whether it's because I'm this side the pond I don't know but on each occasion the transaction has gone smoothly for me. :)
