I voted standard, but it's neither really, since I always adjust the settings to disable most of the 'effects' anyway and go for a natural look.

I prefer not to let some HDTV manufacturer dictate whatever their idea of 'vivid' is to me...

Of the 2 choices, Standard. It is where I would start to make my own personal settings. Vivid is designed so the sets stand out in the well lit showroom floors. It is the default, and is way to strong for correct viewing. A Guy
