The center point of a circle isn't part of the circle. A circle is only the line.
exactly - a circle can be defined as the set of points (locus) which are a fixed distance (radius) away from a fixed point (the centre).

is the centre a radius-length away from itself?

no, so the centre is not on the circle, and is not part of it.

In Geometry, a point is defined as being where 2 or more lines intersect, or where a single line changes direction. For a chord and a circle, the intersection points are where the line passes through the circle, the intersecting line being that which forms the circumference of the circle. Even the diameter, or the Great Chord, holds true to this definition. Whilst it is true that the diameter passes through the centre of the circle, it still has only 2 points because, apart from its intersections with the circumference, there are no other intersections which will define a point.
The center of the circle is an existing point, as it is an endpoint of all the radiuses of the circle which are parts of the circle. The diameter passes through it, thus it contains it.

I might be wrong, but it is purely the teachers fault for incompleting explaining such topic.

Well whatever the answer is, your teacher was still being unprofessional about it all.
That's the point of my disappointment.

Guess it's time to make your peace with your teacher. :)
It's not a matter of making peace with her after knowing she was right. All the way his ignorance makes her pathetic. You clearly didn't read the whole story.

A chord is any straight line whose two end points touches the circumference of a circle, and so by definition it can only have two points. If this line also passes through the center of the circle then it is no longer a chord, but it becomes the circles diameter.

On other matters, people will always disappoint - this is the nature of human relations and the one thing we are probably extremely good at.

Forget it, move on and enjoy the company of others :)

A chord's definition does not restrict 3 points. That is why, we call the diameter, the longest possible chord.

What is really your point? You're trying to propagate your opinion pathetically. Unless anyone sees your opinion is right, he who would want to oppose it.

My reply was a tongue-in-cheek comment that went way over your head - time to hone your sense of humour buds I think.
