Please Less Videos and More readable content on websites

    Hi all
I'm finding it more and more frustrating going to a lot of websites now.
Nobody seems to WRITE anymore -- everbody is doing videos from YOUTUBE or elsewhere with audio commentary as well.

This might be fine if you are at home -- but it's a real pain in a workplace - in any case some places discourage wearing headphones during work time -- so the audio commentary would be useless in any case.

Diagrams are fine -- such as a good powerpoint demo .

For Tutorials video demos aren't actually the most effective either since people learn at different rates and for some people they have forgotten the first part of the video by the end of the whole thing.

With a power point application (or other STATIC presentation software) people can learn at their own pace and access is also easy from an office.

If people MUST do videos (usually because a lot of peopl are acessing the web sites via smart phones) it would be nice for them to offer a TEXT version too.

    Cheers
    jimbo

I have to agree with the less videos. Many times I will skip an article on a site because it's a video instead of written. And, I'm retired and at home - not at work.

Along with the video a big majority of them have a commerical that must run before you can see the video. That is another turnoff and I just skip it.

In some cases, as with DVDs, there is no way to skip the ads/trailers/etc and you just have to let them run their course.

Leave it to Boohbah to post a video on a "No Video Allowed" web site.

To see the worst of the worst, go to NFL.com..............I am sure you will loose all intrest very soon unless you have huge bandwidth and an ultra fast machine. I have complained, but the video bloat continues.
