Windows 7 - The Mac is gone (after 24 years) |

The Mac is gone (after 24 years) As per heading the Mac computer system is no longer taking up space on my desk. It wasn't easy, but I did it (going through withdrawal at present time). Gave it to my youngest son (39) because he like me was (he still is) a huge Mac user.
(See "specs") on what I have now.
The one way of getting through withdrawal was to use the theme package "mac-osx-lion-inspirat-dlb (nice package). This gives Win 7 the look and feel of a Mac, but with the abilities of Win 7.
My reason for jumping ship was because after "Alpha, and Beta testing" Win 7 I just felt it was the better OS (nothing more then that). Also, I found myself using the Win 7 in Boot Camp more then OS X.
Now for the "albeit," I still have my iPod 160 Gigs, and my iPad (1G), so not totally without something from Apple.

You've had the same Mac for 24 years?
I'm sure you'll love Windows 7, it might not look as nice as OSX but it's alot more customizable and there's much more things to do! | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP OS Windows 7 Ultimate CPU DualCore Intel Pentium D 930, 3000 MHz (15 x 200) Motherboard Asus P5LP-LE (Emery) Memory 3x512MB DDR2 Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX Sound Card Realtek ALC882/D/M @ Intel 82801GB ICH7 Monitor(s) Displays Iiyama ProLite E2407HDS Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 70 Hz Keyboard Hewlett Packard Wireless Ergo Mouse Logitech USB Wheel Mouse Hard Drives WDC WD10EARS-00Y5B1 ATA Device Internet Speed 10mbps Download - 1mbps Upload |

And, since you are new to this forum you did not know that I bought my latest Mac back in Sept 2009.
I have been testing Microsoft OS's and over products since 1989 (Excel, Word, etc.).
The only Microsoft OS I didn't test was Windows 95, but that was because I was working with NT and Microsoft Office 4.3 (24 3.5" disc).
But, thank you for the "Welcome to Win 7." . . .
And, an oh "BTW" yes I still have the first Mac I bought, and it still works; though a little slow by today's standard. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavilion a4302f OS Win 7 Pro x64, VM Win XP, Win7 Pro Sandbox, Kubuntu 11 CPU AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 640 @ 3.0 Gbz Memory 12GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB, 2x2GB Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 4350 HD Graphics/Audio with 512MB Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays 1.
