    Outputting TV signal to PC

I have a Topfield PVR, it has the red, yellow and white connections (I never remember the names for them). It outputs them and my PC has red, yellow and white input connectors at the front. What program would I use to view the live tv?

    Component, I believe...

I'm not sure you need a PC to view the output on the Toppy as it's already video... ready to feed a monitor...

The Toppy only supports Component and Scart so I couldn't output it directly to my monitor. Copying a file from it via USB is deathly slow, I thought that I could hook it up to my PC and then record files straight to my hard drive via Windows Media Center?

It's not possible to couple it with Media Centre.

Reason being it doesn't output a tuner signal, but a video feed

You need a monitor with Component inputs, or a component to VGA adapter, say...

So there's absolutely no way to record/watch TV directly to my PC?

I've had no problems in taking signal with scart to composite cable from DVR to PC's TV card composite input and record with WMC. Our smaller DVR has only 160 GB HDD so I'm moving films quite often.

Topfields aren't outputting a signal though. It's not a tuner feed, the box send out a video feed.

Both Toppy's and Humax boxes are crap on USB speeds.

There are hacks you can do to them though...

I used to run a Humax PVR box direct to a Dell 2005 IPS monitor, and audio to separate speakers...

That's not much use for your Toppy, it's a standalone PCi tuner card... apparently with pass through co-ax and S-video, and what looks like digital and composite outputs...

I've just decided to hook up my TV tuner and record stuff via Windows Media Center. The quality isn't half bad either. Thanks for all of your help :)
